The 2013 Share The Road Tour – A Lap of Tasmania
Amy’s Share the Road Tour provides participants with a unique riding experience. Feel like a pro! Great food, stunning scenery, support vehicles, course maps, training programs, team kit, massage, mechanics, school visits en route and evening Q&A sessions with some of Australia’s current and former Pros are all included.
Three pelotons on the road each day provide riders with the opportunity to choose the distance and speed that suits their level of fitness and how they are feeling on a daily basis. The emphasis is on riders looking after their team mates and getting everyone to their destination safely.
In 2012 we were joined by Stuart O’Grady (GreenEDGE), Wes Sulzberger (GreenEDGE), Michael Albasini (GreenEDGE), Simon Clark (GreenEDGE), Rochelle Gilmore (Wiggle Honda & Fundraising Rider), Rachel Neylan (World Championship Silver Medallist), Jess Allen (AGF Scholarship Holder), Phil Anderson, Brad McGee & Stephen Hodge.
The past four editions of Amy’s Share the Road Tour have raised over $960,000 to help the Amy Gillett Foundation work towards its mission of safe cycling in Australia and vision for zero bike-related fatalities. With nearly 40 bike riders killed each year and around 10,000 seriously injured, we all have much work to do to achieve our objectives while promoting cycling as a way of life for all Australians. Click here to find out what was achieved from the 2012 event and how the funds raised in 2013 will help us to achieve our vision.
